2014 Press

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE, 2 JULY 2014 AT 9 AM (EEST)

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded an important order to supply twelve terminal tractors and a further seven lift trucks and one reachstacker to Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, part of the NCSP Group in Russia. The order, which further strengthens Kalmar's relationship with NCSP, represents a significant move to modernise the operators' mobile equipment at a number of its terminal throughout Russia. The order was signed into Kalmar's second quarter intake 2014 and delivery is scheduled to be completed in October 2014.

The NCSP Group is Europe's third largest port operator in terms of cargo turnover and, the undisputable market leader in Russia with a 28% market share. The Group operates two of the largest Russian ports; the Port of Novorossiysk on the black sea coast and the Port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea; as well as the Port of Baltiysk in the Kaliningrad region. The Group's cargo turnover totaled 141 million tons in 2013.

Once again, Kalmar equipment is at the forefront of helping NCSP modernise their fleet and specifically to increase efficiency of their metals handling operations. The exact order comprises twelve TR618i terminal tractors with 32 ton capacity; two DCF420-12 lift trucks fitted with magnets; two DCF330-12LB lift trucks with magnets; one DCF200; two DCF330 and one reachstaker DRF450-65S5X with magnet.

Commenting on Kalmar's solution, Mr Y. Matvienko, CEO of PJSC NCSP said, "Once again, Kalmar has responded precisely to meet our needs. We are currently investing significantly in the modernisation of our ports to increase efficiency and expand capacity. Kalmar's solution ensures the high levels of equipment availability coupled to low costs of ownership. We've had good experience of Kalmar's terminal tractors in the past and the latest TR618i products, fitted with goosenecks, provide sufficient flexibility and productivity.  We have also seen an increase in metals handling so the range of Kalmar lift trucks, fitted with magnet attachments, allows us to make the most of this opportunity.

"Kalmar has always proved to be a reliable partner. They provide the good solutions, not just with the equipment but also their service team is on hand to provide necessary after sales support".
